Even a buffoon can be railroaded

Heavy handed tactics used by the government against at least one witness in the trial of Ohio Rep. Jim Traficant that came to light after the trial, have convinced a juror that Traficant should not have been found guilty.

 

Christmas Book Banned for Christmas

A Massachusetts second grader brought a Christmas book to class for an assignment to bring a book about Christmas, but the school blocked her from sharing it with classmates because it told the story of Jesus Christ's birth.

 

New Question of Possible Oklahoma City Bombing link to Bin Laden

The LA Weekly is continuing to investigate possible links between Middle East terrorists and Tim McVeigh, who was convicted of blowing up the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City, and has uncovered a number of links raising questions as to whether others may have masterminded the incident.  Click here to go to the LA Weekly.

 

Haitian Boat People

Media reporting of Haitians fleeing violence and oppression ended in 1994 when the US invaded Haiti and occupied it, but Haiti's problems remained and is some ways worsened.  1500 boat people were caught by the US Coast Guard and returned to Haiti since the first of this year 2002.  Last year over 6000 Haitians were returned to Haiti by the United States.  Political unrest continues to keep the country on the verge of civil war.

 

TWA800 Questions Remain

Controversy continues to surround TWA flight 800, which crashed into the sea over Long Island, New York in 1996.   An award winning video narrated by a veteran CBS and CNN news correspondent challenges the government's claim that the crash was an accident.  Click on the Worldfest Houston icon to learn more about the new video or visit aim.org on the net.
